Barrick Gold Corp. and Mali are set to resume talks on resolving a monthslong dispute over the distribution of revenue from one of the world’s biggest gold mines.

Mali's government and Barrick Gold will start a new round of negotiations on Tuesday to resolve a deepening dispute over the alleged nonpayment of taxes by the Canadian miner and the seizure of its gold stocks by authorities in the country,

Barrick Gold shares are trading higher by 1.4% during Friday's session. Mining stocks are rising, likely in sympathy with Rio Tinto and Glencore's potential merger talks.

The negotiations will focus on Mali's demand for $199m (CFA Fr125.15bn), compliance with the new mining code and the release of the seized gold.
